Ministries

Men's Ministry

The Men's Fellowship of OBT invites you to be blessed, as you will be a blessing to us. From our first Saturday of the month breakfast, our annual competition in the March Chili Cook-off, to our annual Father's Day Cookout; you will experience the love and friendship among the brethren. We strive to build friendships that are Christ-based so that He is glorified in all that we do. We urge all the men of the church to bring along a visitor or invite someone to join us.

Ladies' Ministry

The Women of OBT have dedicated themselves to the needs of the church at all functions. We actively gather together in unity to serve Christ and our community in Christian love. We attend various women's conferences, provide meals and accommodations for an annual Missionary Conference, host a Mother's Day Celebration, host our annual Homecoming in October, and our annual Craft Fair and Around The World Dinner in November (all proceeds go to our lady missionaries as Christmas gifts), as well as our monthly family night. We serve our families during health, sickness and death, because we know that "inasmuch as we have done it unto the least of these " we have done it unto Him. We are always delighted to have not only the women and young ladies participate in these activities but ask them to bring along a friend.

Youth Ministry "More Than Conquerors"

Our Youth Director, Phillip Anderson, is radical about Jesus and his love for the youth! We are passionately involved in teaching, exhorting and encouraging the youth of our church to make Jesus the most important person in their life. We endeavor to keep them involved in ministry to each other, their church and their community. This is done by attending "Acquire the Fire," Faith & Fellowship Youth Camp, interacting with other young people at rallies, car washes and other fundraisers. They are very involved in serving and helping out during our Annual Missionary Convention and other functions of the church. If you want your child involved with an on-fire, loving group of young people, then get them involved in this ministry.

Children's Ministry

Our team of workers has the spiritual growth of our children at the fore-front of all they do and strive to portray Christ in their teaching, the skits, the singing or other projects. Open Bible Tabernacle is committed to the parents of all children to aid our children in every way possible to bring them to a saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Senior's Ministry

Our seniors meet periodically (usually on the 3rd Thursday) at local restaurants, the church, Florida!! and various homes for fun and fellowship. They are the backbone of Open Bible Tabernacle. We look to them for spiritual as well as other advice, because their wisdom is priceless.

Prayer Ministry

Jesus quoted the prophet Isaiah in Luke 19:46 and said, "My house shall be called a house of prayer for all people." The PRAYER WARRIORS FOR JESUS meet every Sunday evening at 6:00 (except the last Sunday of the month which is Family Night) to pray over all requests. We know that "the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise them up."

Bridal Services

Our beautiful sanctuary makes a great wedding chapel. It will seat up to 1000 very comfortably. We offer three different styles of candelabras, a kneeling bench, and two sizes of pedestals for flowers or ferns. Because every wedding party has different desires and needs, we invite you to call the church at 770-434-1321 and ask to speak to either Karen Darrough or Patricia Johnson about options.

Missions

Open Bible Tabernacle’s vision for missions began almost fifty years ago when our Senior Pastor’s son-in-law challenged him on the fact that the bible said “Go into all the world and preach the gospel. . .” not just in Marietta, Georgia.

We began helping support one missionary at a time. Presently, we help support ten foreign missionaries and nine local or state-side missionary projects. We now give an average of $150,000.00 per year to Missions.

Every year at our Annual Missionary Convention in July our missionaries challenge us anew as we hear directly from them what our offerings are accomplishing at home and abroad. For more information on past conventions or present planning for this year, please vist Annual Missionary Convention.
